Well it's been a week since I've started at the lab. I've done cool things that us science kids learn about in class like load and run SDS-PAGE gels and do coomassie blue stains. I can't wait till I get my own project and get to manage my own work. I'm still doing lab tech duties but I realize that I am a second year student working with grad students that are all in their late 20s. I'm very lucky to have this job and I really have nothing to complain about it.

It's funny, I actually forgot how to make solutions, which for me was quite embarrasing...after a year of 4 chemistry labs.

Other than that, I think I got food poisoning from some late night McDonald's (never a good idea mind you) and that's putting a dampening on my four day weekend. Yep, the whole lab is gone at some department-wide biochemistry retreat that I was not invited to since I just started last week, or so I think.
