Monday: The night before, I checked the schedule and saw that the 25 comes by my stop every 10m from 10:03 AM and on. In the morning, I even texted 33333 to make sure. I wander out to the stop a few minutes before 10:42 AM and notice a couple of others sitting at the stop, also waiting for the 25. I think to myself, "phew, I didn't miss it." So I gleefully turn on my ipod and start lip synching to some Kelly Clarkson waiting for the 10:52 AM bus. "Since You've Been Gone" is now over; I look at my watch, now 11:02 AM. Hmm...Surely the 10:52 will just come at 11:02 right? Wrong. To my side one woman is fed up and decides to take the 7 towards Broadway and Alma, presumeably to transfer to the 99 or 17. I wait until 11:15 until the 25 comes. I didn't say "Hi" to the bus driver, that'll teach him...
Tuesday: I guess the bus driver decides that my work isn't really important and thinks that I should go in everyday late. Well he won again on Tuesday. I go out for the 10:42 AM bus and have to wait until the 11:02 AM bus. This time I change from Kelly Clarkson to something more vengeful, something more raw. Ladies and gentlemen, Avril Lavigne.
Wednesday: Third time's the charm, right? Apparently not. I go out at 10:37 AM thinking I've left myself ample time to walk the 20 second stroll to the bus stop for the 10:42 AM bus. As I get there it's leaving. Awesome! It came 5 minutes early...I sit down and wait for the 10:52 AM bus. Yeah that one never even came. Three 25s going the other way drive past. I put on Jack Johnson to try and keep myself from donkey punching the poor girl beside me. It doesn't come until 11:02 AM with the same driver who, for some reason, has a reflective yellow and red vest that construction workers have draped over the area you put your money in for a ticket. He's a little off, to say the least.
I'm either starting to believe there's no such thing as the 10:42 or 10:52 AM 25 to UBC. It's almost like women's rights, world peace and Kyle Wellwood being in shape, if you will.
Until tomorrow...
